Comparison Between Wallace 's And Darwin' S Theory Of Natural Selection

At the beginning of the20th century,Wallace who as the co-discoverer of the theory of natural selection was introduced to China.It is one of the common senses that Wallace and Darwin discovered the theory of natural selection together and triggered the "Darwinian revolution".At home,although some books which about evolution theory often mention Wallace,but too little space.The people would just know that Wallace and Darwin proposed the theory of evolution which is based on the theory of nature selection at the same time.It is because of Wallace, Darwin hastened the pace of work,after more than13months of tension and writing,he finally completed the famous book the Origin of Species.However,according to some foreign date,Wallace is not the same "Darwinian" as Darwin,he developed a very different evolution theory.Regarding this question,there is no comprehensive introduction and in-depth research at home. So,this article will focus on comparing both Darwin and Wallace’s theory of natural selection, reviewing the "co-finder" of the theory of natural selection.The paper has four parts.The first chapter mainly introduces the way Darwin and Wallace how to find the theory of natural selection.From the different of birth circumstances.social relationship and natural history experience,it shows two completely different path to "discover".The second chapter to the fourth chapter is the key of this article.By analyzing the differences between Darwin and Wallace on the theory of natural selection, from "the analogy between natural selection and artificial selection ","a different interpretation of the secondary sex characteristic" and "the origin of man", etc., classifying the specific differences in the theory of natural selection, and tries to discuss the reasons behind or influence. Wallace adhered to the interpretation of the strong adaption to oppose Darwin who introduced artificial selection and sexual selection, however, on the issue of human evolution, Wallace think that natural selection have limitations, spiritualism thought to explain the unique human spirit ability.Nowadays,although Darwin’s theory of natural selection widely recognized, Wallace gradually fade out the scientific community.but, by comparing the Wallace and Darwin’s theory of natural selection. It can make the public more thorough understanding of this theory.
