Study On The Relationship Between The Structure Of Foreign Trade And The Economic Growth In Liaoning Province

The structure of foreign trade refers to that the import and export of various typescommodity accounts for the proportion of the import and export trade in a country or aregion in a certain period of time. The structure of foreign trade has an important influenceon economic growth.The reasonable structure will simulate sound and rapid economicgrowth but irrational structure will slow down economic growth and even hinder it.According to the report of the The Third Plenary Session of the18th Central Committee ofthe Communist,government should speed up the transformation of the mode of economicgrowth and push forward the reform towards to the optimization of structure, expanding ofthe depth,efficiency improvement.Therefore，strategic adjustment of economic structure isthe main direction to speed up the transformation of the pattern of economic growth. Thestructure of foreign trade is the key of the economic structure adjustment.Import andexport trade has increased to$103.99billion in Liaoning province in2012ranking in thetop throughout China,but the reasonable adjustment of the trade structure plays animportant role on the economic growth rate. In this article, the foreign trade data inLiaoning Province was analyzed to measure whether the foreign trade structure can adaptto the rapid economic growth, and what kind of foreign trade structure can promoteeconomic growth significantly.The thesis begins with related theories of foreign trade structure and economic growthand then collects and sorts the present data of the structure of foreign trade in Liaoningprovince in terms of foreign trade commodity structure, the way of foreign trade structure,the pattern of foreign trade structure,regional structure of foreign trade and economicgrowth.The thesis carries on the induction analysis based on the collected data and putsforward some problems such as the export market concentration, a single trade way, thelow proportion of new high-tech product export and high dependence on foreign directinvestment. Then, The article studies empirically the relationship between foreign trade commodity structure and the economic growth,between the way of foreign trade structureand the economic growth with the data of1995-2012by use of multiple linear regressionof least-square method, vector auto-regressive model impulse response analysis andvariance decomposition method to find the quantitative results of contribution degree thatforeign trade commodity structure and the way of foreign trade structure act on theeconomic growth.Finally, according to the contribution degree of foreign trade commoditystructure and the way of foreign trade commodity structure to the economic growth, putforward the countermeasures to optimize the structure of foreign trade and promoteeconomic growth in Liaoning province in terms of general trade, processing trade, primaryproducts, mechanical and electrical products and high-tech products etc.
