A Research On The Contribution Of Hebei's Foreign Trade To Its Economic Growth

Today's world is already an open world, economic globalization and regional economic integration is an irreversible trend of the world economy. Any country or region cannot develop its own economy independently staying away from the world economy system. Many countries pay great attention to the international trade, which is an important mean for economic entity to attend international exchange, to make full use of their respective comparative advantages, and to optimize the allocation of scarce resources in a larger scope. The economic practice of Japan and "Asia's Four Little Dragons" has proved that one country can achieve economic breakthrough by developing foreign trade.There are many similarities in economic development between regions and countries. Coastal provinces such as Guangdong, Zhejiang, Fujian, Shanghai etc. have realized its economic growth rapidly with the support of the 'Open Policy', which indicates that a region can accelerate its economic development through foreign trade. To achieve the economic growth in the 21st century, Hebei must also promote its international trade.This thesis starts with economic growth theory and ends by suggestions to accelerate economic growth in Hebei. In the thesis, the writer uses a variety of research tools, such as a combination of the quantitative and the qualitative, theory and demonstration, history and intercomparsion supplement. First of all, this thesis briefly describes typical economic growth theory, by which the writer summarizes the factors of economic growth. Then the writer reviews the representative theories about the relations between the growth of foreign trade and economic development, which lays the foundation for analyzing the mechanism of foreign trade's acceleration in promoting economic growth. Hereby, the writer analyzes the relationship between Hebei's foreign trade and economic growth on the basis of the theory. In Chapter III, the writer makes demonstrative researches on the relationship between Hebei's foreign trade and economic growth in various angles, including the studies on the relations of overall international trade, export, import, trade structure, trade patterns and Hebei's economic growth.
