Analysis On The Characteristics Of Hainan Farmers’ Science And Technology Information Needs And Its Influencing Factors

In China, the "Three agricultural" issues has became a bottleneck constrainting modernization and social development. Hainan is a Large agricultural province whose rural population accounts for50.3%, in the context of constructing international tourist island in Hainan, the solvent of " Three agricultural " issues is even more urgent. The Informatization construction in rural areas is the focus of the "Three agricultural" work, studing on the problems in agricultural informatization, providing decision support for the construction of agricultural informatization, has became an important direction of the " Three agricultural " research. Hainan is far away from the mainland, economic development lags behind, there are many problems to be solved in its rural information services. Investigation of the basic characteristics and influencing factors of Hainan farmers’technology information needs, can provide theoretical guarantees for information service sectors in Hainan Province to provide targeted information services.In the first, this article discussed the present researching situations of farmers’ information needs, and analyzed the shortcomings of the current study. At the same time, defined the meaning of farmers’ information technology needs, elaborated the theoretical framework of information economics theory, communication theory, Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory. Then, the paper analyzed the current situations of Hainan farmers’science and technology information needs,and the science and technology information needs of farmers in different culture, age, gender, region, economic conditions. Combining the above theoretical framework and literature review, this paper divided the factors affecting farmers’ information needs into objective factors and the factors influencing on the cognition and expression of farmers’ information needs, then arrived at a model of influencing factors of Hainan farmers’Science and Technology information needs. In this paper, researchers visited and surveyed in Qiongzhong, Ding’an, Wenchang of Hainan Province, filtered and sorted the data obtained, analyzed the data in descriptive statistical, correlational and Logistic regressional ways, this article studied the various factors affecting farmers’ demand of technology information from empirical angle, tested the factors’ model of Hainan farmers’science and technology information needs. Based on the analysis of characteristics and influencing factors of farmers’technological information needs, the paper proposed some suggestions to meet the information needs of farmers in Hainan Province.
