With the new economy era changing the business environment,competition remains a constant theme.As the main economic activity in themarket,enterprises that want to stand out in the fierce market competition, must behighly concerned about competition and learn it:grasp the competing law,insight intothe competing principle,and master competing theories, methods and strategiesmode,so as to be good at competition and win the competition.Retail trade,which is thelast link that goods enter for consumption from circulation, is an important part of theservice industry.As the years of China’s accession to the WTO progressed,foreignretailers have entered the Chinese market for the gradual liberalization of the efforts toprotect retail, bringing greater impact to China’s domestic retailers.Besides,thedevelopment of technology and the diversification of customer needs make theproduct-centric mode of competition change.Faced with such severe competitionenvironment,where will China’s retail enterprises go: whether stand out in the marketcompetition and seek a new way of development,or just be eliminated because ofconservation and complacency?There is an alternative for them.This paper takes the retail enterprises of Neijiang City in Sichuan Province as themain object of analysis and is based on the retail enterprisecompetitivestrategies.Firstly,it reviews the theory that is relevant to the subject.And then,with theuse of analysis tools such as Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model and Value ChainModel,it analyzes the development of Neijiang City’s retail enterprises.finally,find outproblems the city comes across and propose competitive strategies to them.Here is thepoints:First,Competitive strategies which are carried out, should be retail formatsfocusing on diversity and multi-layer to strength the inner competitiveness in theenterprises.Second,Competitive strategies with mostly chain network retail system,thatis Planning Property, should be implemented to heighten the rampart of the entry of the city’s retail by strategic alliances to defend the foreign competitiveness.Thirdly, anumber of logistics distribution centers should be establishedto aim the accurate market.It also requiredto create an unique enterprise culture to increase the value added in theentire value chain, in order to enhance the competitiveness of Neijiang City’s retailenterprises.
