With industrial transformation and change speeding up, the new model of economic development will play a crucial role. Young entprenuers grow up while Chinese economy took off during the last30years, blessing them with deep insight into the envolvement of new market dynamics. More educated than other groups of entrepreneurs, young entrepreneurs are more likely to succeed in this complicated circumstance. How to preicisely identify the entrepreneurial context, hone their entrepreneurial skills and make right decisions has attracted attention as a pressing social topic.Under this context, this research targets contemporary young entrepreneurs from the perspective of practical intelligence. Taking the entrepreneurial trend into consideration, the relationship among contexts, compentency, strategy and performance of young entrepreneuers is studied in depth.Through interviews, this research analyses the key behaviors of interviewees, perfecting the theoretical construct. Based on interviews, questionnaires of157young entrepreneurs from Zhejiang and other provinces are also collected. The sample varies in industry and sizes. Afterwards this research defines the entrepreneurial contextual characteristics and competency model and discusses the relationship with groth performance.Besides, the mediating effect of competency model and moderating effect of vision-driven is also studied.Based on above research construct, this research has come to conclusions as follows:1. The entrepreneurial contexts of young entrepreneuers include business innovation and organizational inheritance dimensions,which impose positive effect on growth performance; and entrepreneurial contexts also influence entrepreneurial competencies of young entrepreneurs;2. The entrepreneurial competencies of young entrepreneuers include resource integrating,change-learing and cultural adptaion dimensions, which would also impose positive effect on growth performance;3. The entrepreneurial competency plays a mediating effect between the relationship of context variables and performance. In detail, the resource integrating competency plays a mediating effect between the relationship of business innovation and growth performance. The change-learning competency plays a mediating effect between the relationship of business innovation and growth performance. The resource integrating competency plays a mediating effect between the relationship of organizational inheritance and growth performance. The change-learning competency plays a mediating effect between the relationship of organizational inheritance and growth performance;4. Vision-driven plays a moderating effect between the change-learning competency and growth performance. But moderating effect doesn’t exist between resource integrating competency and growth performance, cultural adptaion competency and growth performance.
