Agricultural mechanization is an important material and technical foundation of modern agricultural development, and concentrated reflection of the agricultural productivity’s development. Improving the agricultural mechanization plays a critical role of accelerating the process of agricultural modernization, enhancing agriculture’s international competitiveness, and even promoting farmers’income. In recent years, under the influence of agricultural policy support and other factors, China’s agricultural mechanization has entered a sustainable, rapid and stable developmental epochs, and the overall agricultural mechanization level has enhanced rapidly. However, the mechanization level between different crops and three links of cultivation, plant and harvest exists imbalance. Corn is one of China’s three major food crops. Despite its rapid development of mechanization, the national tractor level of corn reached83.55%, sowing machine level reached72.48percent, but the income level from machine was only16.91%in2009. It is obvious that the harvesting mechanization has been the block neck of the maize production mechanization. How to increase the level of farmers’corn harvesting mechanization has become an important topic of China’s maize production mechanization. Therefore, based on existing research, this paper will explore through empirical study and study whether the use of corn harvesting mechanization link should be adopted, and the influencing factors of the levels of usage, which has great realistic meaning for improving the level of China’s corn production mechanization.Based on this, this paper combined with previous studies, conceptualized agricultural mechanization and corn harvesting mechanization, summarized and analyzed the situation of corn production and corn harvest mechanization in Shandong Province, determined the dimensions of factors which influenced farmers’ adoption of harvesting mechanization, and thus defined the object of study. Secondly, the study went through and compared the factors affecting farmers harvesting mechanization systematically, set up the research framework from two aspects of whether farmers should adopt the corn harvesting mechanization and the level of corn harvesting mechanization, divided the factors that may influence the adoption of corn harvesting mechanization into the basic characteristics of the head of household, household production and operation characteristics, perceived job characteristics, policy factors and natural disasters. Furthermore, I designed questionnaires, collected data through field research. Last but not least, I did an empirical analysis of the sample data by binary Logistic model of sample data, drew conclusions based on empirical results of this paper, and proposed targeted countermeasures and suggestions. The results of the study show that:education level, information acquiring ability, proportion of non-agricultural income, planting scale, perceived effectiveness and the subsidy of government were significantly positive with the adoption of maize mechanized harvesting, whereas land fragmentation and serious natural disasters had significant negative effect on it. Finally, this paper suggested that accelerate the promotion of reasonable land transfer, expand the publication of mechanization, effectively use the subsidy policy tools and actively carry out agricultural mechanization innovation can improve the adoption of mechanized maize harvesting among farmers.
