Research On Possible Strategies For The Sugarcane Harvesting Mechanization In Guangxi

Guangxi serves as China’s largest sugar cane production base.In recent years,Guangxi has strengthened the construction of a high-quality“high-yield and high-sugar" sugar cane production base,vigorously improved the mechanization during the whole process of sugar cane production,and pushed the strategic transformation of the secondary development of the sugar industry.Hence,an analysis on the development status quo of sugar cane production mechanization in Guangxi so as to study how to improve the mechanization rate of sugar cane production in Guangxi,reduce the cost of sugar cane production and promote the common increase in sugar cane farmers’income is of great significance to boosting the quality and efficiency of the sugar cane industry in Guangxi.Through research methods such as literature research,field investigation and statistical analysis,this paper summarizes the sugar cane planting and mechanization development status quo of large foreign sugar cane producing countries and China’s major sugar cane producing provinces,explores the influence of mechanical technology and traditional technology on the growth of sugar cane through comparative experiment,analyzes the current development status of sugar cane production mechanization in Wuming District and Fusui County by means of case analysis,and carries out an in-depth study on the mechanization development situation,main harvest modes and existing problems of Guangxi’s sugar cane production.The research found that at present,the mechanization rate of sugar cane production in Guangxi is low and the comprehensive mechanization rate is only 59.1%.Compared with developed countries our production cost is higher and we still have a long way to go.the production cost is high.In addition,the problems existing in the mechanization development of sugar cane production in Guangxi include:hindrances caused by land fragmentation to the mechanization development of sugar cane planting;lagging-behind research and development of local adaptive agricultural machinery and the lack of supporting facilities;the current planting technology that is not adapted to mechanical harvesting;sugar cane farmers’ low educational level and ability to accept new things;expensive agricultural machinery and imperfect after-sales service;lack of skilled agricultural machinery operators;weak enterprise technique and initiative.Based on this and in combination with the problems existing in the development process of sugar cane production mechanization in Guangxi,this paper proposes the following targeted countermeasures:accelerating the independent research,development and production of domestic sugar cane planting-and-harvesting machinery;cultivating mechanized senior talents;strengthening technical training to improve the quality of sugar cane farmers;formulating and promoting the planting-and-harvesting standards of mechanization;establishing an effective mechanization promotion model for sugar cane planting and harvesting;and providing better policy support.
