A Study On The Construction And Application Of The Assessment System Of Tourism Sustainable Development For Uninhabited Island In Hainan

With the rapid development of island tourism, its sustainability has driven us more and more attention. However, in regard of the sustainable development of uninhabited island tourism, especially those in the special area, few studies have been conducted. It is full of theoretical and practical significance for us to establish the assessment indicator system of tourism sustainable development for uninhabited island in Hainan, which not only can be used to normalize the development of tourism resource, but also to improve the sustainable utilization of resource there.On the basis of literature review, this paper has put forward the assessment indicator system of tourism sustainable development for uninhabited island in Hainan within the framework of five component model including environment, resource, economy, society and management. To build the system, in this paper, we proposed the expert consultation method for filtering the indicator. This assessment system consists of four layer, which are target layer, system layer, state layer and index layer.The system layer, which includes39indicators, has been divided into environment, resource, economy, society and management these five subsystems and each one has the development status and development potential these tow state description layers. Then, we invited experts to do comparison and grade and confirmed the weight of each indicator adopting the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). According to the index weight, puts forward the suggestions and countermeasures for the development and protection of uninhabited island tourism in Hainan.According to the national or industrial standards, also combining the former study and experts’opinion, the evaluation standard of index quantification and the sustainable development degree have been set up.Following, employing the multi-target linear weighting function method, we calculated the comprehensive evaluation index of sustainable development. Finally, using the assessment indicator system we have established, we made an empirical study of the Boundary Island and the result indicates that the tourism development on this island is in the basically sustainable development stage. The result is roughly in the line with the reality, which verifies the feasibility and availability of our indicator system. Meanwhile, in this paper, we also put forward some suggestions to promote the tourism development on the Boundary Island.
