China is a large agricultural country. With the development of the Internet, the process of agricultural informatization are rapidly accelerated. The development of agricultural websites is a very important aspect of promoting agricultural informatization. However, the quality of the agricultural websites is really uneven. This situation have brought great difficulties when the users get access to the Internet resources, and the management departments also have difficulties carrying out the standard in agricultural websites.In a word, the quality of agricultural websites is the key what affects the rapid development of Chinese agricultural informatization.The main contents of this paper are:1. Firstly, we analyze the recent research about the websites’evaluation at home and abroad. We also review the development of Chinese agricultural websites, and conclude the types and function of Chinese agricultural websites.2. Then we clarify the main principles which guide the evaluation on agricultural websites. Based on the principles, we establish a evaluation indexes system preliminary.3. After that, we take qualitative and quantitative method to establish the evaluation model, and we apply AHP method to determine the weights of the specific index. We also make clear the method of collecting and standardizing data. Then we finish the operating evaluation index system on agricultural websites.4. In empirical research, we choose the283agricultural websites in Jiangsu Province, the results prove the evaluation index system is fit to assess agricultural websites. Meanwhile, we put forward some measures to promote the development of agricultural websites in Jiangsu province.
