Purchasing Management Research Of Company B

Along with the development of economic globalization, the competition between companies evolve to supply chain management. Meanwhile, the importance of purchasing management in the company management has been elevated to strategic level, how to apply advanced supply chain management theory and method in company’s purchasing management goes to be a question urgently in need of renovation.This paper starting with the introduction on theory of purchasing and supply chain management, then introduce the importance of strategic sourcing by analysis the development of Company B. Based on the principle of "theory combined with practice", this paper details the supply rating and selection theory of Company B, and then developed a new supply chain model-Continuous Replenishment, which works well in different condition with different kind of suppliers of Company B. It comes from supply chain management of Company B referring to strategic sourcing method and current advanced supply chain management method.Continuous Replenishment model study the advanced feature of lean supply chain and agile supply chain management, combining the merit of vender managed inventory and collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment model. It could be a good reference to company and related industries in purchasing management.
