Research On The ERP-based Purchasing Management System In Manhattan Group

With the development of technology and business model innovation, the competition between enterprises is becoming fiercer. The updating of information technology and its widely using in the field of business has provided a new path of increasing the enterprise’s core competitiveness. The concept of ERP effectively fused advanced management idea with information technology, and was increasingly used for many companies. Purchasing management of enterprises is an important part of ERP. Effective purchasing management deeply improves enterprise’s competitiveness. Correspondingly, for many companies, the design of the purchasing management system and its operation are the significant issues of ERP implementation. Therefore, the analysis and implementation should be focus on the specific problems and business scenarios.Based on the background of Manhattan ERP project implementation, the paper researched the management issue of analysis, design and implementation of ERP purchasing management system. After deeply investigation in the automobile multi-media production industry, the paper analyzed the purchasing process of company, found the root cause of existed issue, and provided the solution for organization structure reengineering and business process reengineering. Meanwhile, fix the new purchasing business by the ERP information system. Thus, ERP information system and purchasing business can be organically merged. Our goals are to resolve the actual issues of company, decrease the cost of inventory and purchase, re-plan the business flow, reduce the manual workload and implement the data sharing. After ERP project implementation, SCM management of Manhattan group has been enhanced, especially in the phase of purchase, realized the decrease of inventory cost and purchasing, re-planned the business flow, unified management and shared data on the top of group, reduced the manual workload.Generally, the paper diagnoses the issues that were put forward by the investigation phase, gives the details of issue analysis, and make the solution. Finally, as per the point of information technology, we implement ERP project and execute it to the whole group to resolve the issues. Besides, we have summarized the successful experience of ERP implementation, providing the reference for the further study and wok.
