In reality, as an incentive, tournaments and piece production has been widely used in many fields. Many scholars have also been conducted in-depth studies, however, almost no scholars take into account how employee performance is evaluated, performance evaluation is always unbiased? Employees doubt this. Nepotism and gender bias, nationality, race and religion will lead to unfair judgment. When employees aware of it, his performance would significantly change.Gender, religion, race, etc. are all factors that highlight our social identity. Currently, in most companies, especially family businesses, social identity is widespread, because of managers and some employees having family ties, having similar interests, or be from the same university. Obviously, when social identity exist, in tournament employees’performance will change, then how does the employees’ performance change? How does social identity directly affect managers’behavior?In order to study these problem, we adopt a experimental method. Different from the previous research method:this paper adopt priming technology highlight social identity; using the way real effort to measure employees’performance.We get the following conclusions through analysis the experimental data of144subjects:(a) the essence of social identity affecting employees’behavior is that the expectance of the employees change, then behavior of employees change.(b) In the scenario of considering social identity, effort level of employees decreased,(c) In the piece rate, social identity has no affection on the employee’ s behavior,(d) from the employees’behavior, when considering the case of social identity, the piece rate is better than the tournament,(e) In tournament or piece rate, social identity affect the behavior of the managers, but compared to the piece rate, in the tournament, the identity’s factors more affect on the manager’ s behavior,(f) When managers are affected identity factors, he was also affected by guilt, so his evaluation is not too far from the objective evaluation.For companies, especially family business, in the case of social identtity, their choice of motivational strategies should incline to be piece rate. In the tournament, not only be the incentive effect weak, but also allow enterprises to bear the cost of prize.
