EP-based Supplier Quality Management Company GW400 Project

With the process of global economic integration, the method to pursuit a better enterprise performance is under continuous innovation in various economies. It trends to be a widely adapted value-added approach, especial for the OEM/ODM companies. In the business progress between the foreign and domestic OEM/ODM companies, the attitude of foreign brands has changed a lot at the Quality Requirement. It has changed from attention the result of the product quality to focus on the process quality of the product, even they has step into the products design, tooling development and2-tier supplier section.In this paper, we summed up a set of good practice of supplier quality management through EP GW400project. Firstly the author has a brief introduction for the quality management theory as the foreshadowing for subsequent chapters. Secondly, it introduces EP&Supplier FJ’s quality management status and has a brief analysis for them. Thirdly, according to the new quality requirement of GW400, the author has a detailed study for the supplier quality management as follows:First, inducing and implementing EP quality culture to its supplier FJ:Good is not enough, each product must be perfect. This culture is emphasized to the quality continuous improvement, and the requirement is relatively fragmented. EP summed up the supplier quality management by integrating to the requirement of these scattered requirements, such as wall of shan、new product appearance standard、new production line requirement、new fixture requirement new test requirement、etc.Second, based on the case of GW400, the author combined quality management and project management knowledge by using modern quality tools and methods. and push supplier quality continuous improvement through NPD/NPI/Process quality/2-tier supplier quality management.As the senior quality manager, the author took the lead to improve the supplier FJ quality improvement and got the good result at GW400, and the same quality management method is introduced to EP other suppliers and models. Also the author hope FJ can fulfill the quality management in its internal progress, and combine with its own development, real-time adjustment direction, increase the company’s competitiveness.
