The paper establishes olive cultivation areas division byanalyzing the current situation and problems in Fuzhou oliveindustry and proposes industrial upgrading strategies in view ofdomestic and international developments. Based on the relation ofolives cultivation and weather condition along with the presentcondition of olives’s planting in Fuzhou, the agricultural climatedemarcation key factor and indicators of olives ’s planting aredetermined; the relation model between climatic andgeographical regionalization factors (factors including longitude, latitude, elevation, slope, aspect, etc.) is established; the revisingmodel for slope and slope directions at the extreme lowest airtemperature is especially built, greatly improving the simulationaccuracy of topographical weathers of the mound and mountainareas; small grid points (100M*100M) projections concerninggeographic zoning factor are conducted with the support of GIS;classification is made of the planting areas in Fuzhou into the mostsuitable, suitable, less suitable or unsuitable for growing olive bythe use of "3S" technology, taking into consideration the climate, topography and land use and other factors. The results showthat:⑴Fuzhou total land area suitable for olive cultivation is331,000hm2, while the existing cultivated area is less than8,000hm2..Abundant land resources suitable for olive cultivation areavailable;⑵Point inspection by representatives indicates thatregionalization results are basically consistent with the fact;⑶Amending the traditional olive layout concepts, the future oliveproduction development should be focused in the southeastcoastal areas, and with caution in MINQING, the traditional main producing areas. In light of all the above research and experimentresults, the following industrial upgrading strategies are proposed:⑴optimize regional distribution&construct high-priorityproduction base;⑵establish modern cultivation and managementsystem&improve product quality;⑶increase efforts in thecollection and preservation of olive germplasm;⑷optimizationvarieties layout&promote both production and sales;⑸improvecommercialized capacity for postharvest handling&develop newprocessed products;⑹increase brand building efforts&expandexport markets.
