The Empirical Research Of Farmer Professional Cooperation Organization Influences The Income Of Cotton Grower

Cotton is the important strategic materials, which is related to the nationalwelfare and the people’s livelihood of our country. Over time, however, the cottonproduction of our country takes on tremendous fluctuation. Among these, thetremendous fluctuation of cotton price not only directly affects the cotton growers’willingness to plant cotton, but also has become the main factors affecting China’scotton supply. From a industry standpoint, the production process in the lower part ofcotton industry of China also appears relatively weak in the present. And the lowdegree of cotton grower organization is an important reason. The lower organizationallevel of cotton growers is hard to resist the risk of price fluctuation. It hindered thehealthy development of cotton industry all the more. However, experience has provedthat farmer professional cooperation organization can not only effectively reduce theoperating costs of farmers and improve the degree of organization, but also morehelpful to improve farmers ’ market position and increase farmers’ income. Therefore,taking the farmer professional cooperation organization as the point of penetration,researching and ascertaining its actual effect and the influence for farmers’ incomehas a very important reference value for the development and improvement ofcooperation organization and even the protection of our country’s cotton production.This paper takes the cooperative theory, organization and management theory,property rights theory and institutional change theory as the basis of theoryframework, through the qualitative analysis, summarizes the problems existing in thepresent farmer professional cooperation organizations and cotton production of Hebeiprovince. And then it takes the main cotton belt of central and southern of HebeiProvince as the empirical study object, and synthetically uses the statistical methodssuch as the random sampling and stratified sampling to select ten villages of fourcounties (cities) to carry out the field research. Finally, we got377effectivequestionnaires. In the empirical research, firstly, it is based on the actual needs offarmers and uses the method of analytic network process to synthetically evaluateeach service function provided by cooperation organizations. Secondly, through theestablishment of multiple linear regression models, this paper takes the servicefunction of higher weight in the evaluation result into the model, in order to estimatethe influence degree that farmers are most concerned about the each service functionfor their own plant cotton income. Finally, according to the results of the above modelevaluation and estimation, this paper analysis and discuss the actual role and influence that farmer professional cooperation organization for cotton growers’ income.The main conclusions of this paper are as below:The first, by contrast to the two groups of farmers that take part in and did notparticipate in farmer professional cooperative organizations, we found thatcooperation organizations play an important role in the process of the development ofcotton growers and obtaining profit, and it can make the cotton growers achieve bettertechnology and service.The second, through evaluating each service function provided by cooperationorganizations, we found that cotton growers most expect to get services mainly focuson the sales section of cotton production such as the enhancing bargaining capabilityand market information service etc.The third, through the establishment of multiple linear regression models, thispaper estimated the functions provided of cooperation organization. And the resultshows that provided in the service that provided by cooperation organization, thesefunctions that are the most significant influence on cotton growers’ income are allconcentrated in the prenatal and production process of cotton production.In view of the above conclusions, this paper put forward the followingcountermeasures: starting from the construction of farmer professional cooperationorganization, it should improve the earnings distribution mechanism; strengthen thebenefit jointing between cooperation organization and their members. At the sametime, through mergers expand the scale, enhanced the competitive power ofcooperation organization so that safeguard the interests of cotton growers; Startingfrom creating a good external development environment of cooperation organization,the government should actively participate in the construction and operation ofcooperation organization and establish the public service platform for thedevelopment of cooperation organization, and establish the system of "specialcorrespondent" to guide and regulate the healthy and ordered development ofcooperation organization.
