| Land is the most basic natural resources for human survival, which plays an irreplaceable role in social and economic activities. Increased population with the decreased arable land, poor quality of cultivated land, as well as scarcely arable land resources make up China’s basic national conditions. With the rapid economic development of our society and the growing demand for construction land, wantonly occupation of arable land has become increasingly obvious. In order to alleviate the contradiction between protection of arable land and economic construction, there has been proposed the dynamic equilibrium of the total arable land of strategic thinking. In this context, land consolidation has been considered to be the way to achieve the dynamic equilibrium of the total arable land. With the further application of the study for land consolidation, it becomes the best choice both for promotion of resources and environment and coordinated development for economy and population, as well as food security. This article takes Gao ping District, Nan chong, as the research object. It aims to analyze status of the potential suitability evaluation based on different land types by estimating land consolidation potential for arable land, residential land, unutilized land as well as land reclamation. Conclusions are as follows.First of all, the paper analyzes current land use situation in Gao ping District.Studies show that agricultural land makes up the major part in the study area.In addition, there are higher rates of land reclamation and land utilization, together with lower rates of forest coverage, but larger differences in land use structure. Also, it lacks of reserve resources of cultivated land there. Still, lower efficiency of land use as well as the unreasonable layout of urban and rural construction are some of the more prominent issues.Next, suitability evaluation of residential land consolidation, unused land consolidation and land reclamation have been put forward following the evaluation land consolidation potential for arable land, residential land, unutilized land as well as land reclamation and in Gao ping District. Results are that arable land consolidation potential reaches680.11hm2in the study area, among which administrative villages of potential I are5,Ⅱ are15, and Ⅲ are6; Potential of rural settlements consolidation is109.54hm2, among which administrative villages of potential I are2,Ⅱ are12, and Ⅲ are4; Potential of the unutilized land consolidation is4456.94hm2, among which administrative villages of potential I are3,Ⅱ are6, and Ⅲ are4. The most promising villages should be Dongguan, Licun and Goushi, which is respectively. Finally, by measurement and classification of potential for arable land, residential land, unused land together with land to be reclaimed, appropriate policies and countermeasures would be put forward according to the evaluation from different perspectives of land consolidation for different land types. With the improvement of management system for land consolidation, specification of market-oriented operating mechanism, optimization of incentives mechanism as well as construction of capital circulation system, it is to provide scientific and rational theoretical support for land consolidation work and contributes to land consolidation in Gao ping District towards the development of healthy and sustainable direction at the same time. |
