The World Tourism Organization defines tourists as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes ".Tourism has become a popular global leisure activity. Tourism is important, and in some cases, vital for many countries. Tourism brings in large amounts of income in payment for goods and services available, accounting for30%of the world’s exports of services, and6%of overall exports of goods and services. It also creates opportunities for employment in the service sector of the economy, associated with tourism.Mass tourism could only have developed with the improvements in technology, allowing the transport of large numbers of people in a short space of time to places of leisure interestHowever during the actual operation of the scenic spots, the managers often encounter a series of thorny issues, such as unreasonable planning of entrance,waiting areas, excessive use of tourism resources, and unsatisfying level of personal services. All these problems restrict the long-term development of the scenic spots.This study aimed to study the entrance path design for scenic spots in tourism industry to competitiveness, to determine the most important problem waiting line for tourists, and to investigate how tourism product suppliers and marketers establish and maintain competitiveness to help. A qualitative method was adopted for this study. Purposely, this study Presently, the tourist congestion problem has become more and more serious in the scenic spots in the world. For the majority of tourists, waiting in line for a very long time is unavoidable during their trip, especially in the in Golden Week or other peak tourist seasons.Waiting in line for a very long time will influence tourists as followsTourists will not be willing to spend most of their time on waiting in a queue as waiting is a waste of tourists’ time resource and will reduce satisfaction. Although there are many factors which have influence on the satisfaction of the tourists, according to the statistical results of some surveys, for the tourists in our country, the greatest cause of dissatisfaction is spending too much time in line;Long waiting time may reduce the desire of tourists to travel, thus causing a reduction of tourist numbers. For the management of tourist attractions, with the competition among various of scenic spots becoming increasingly intense, winning customers and avoiding customer loss has become a tough challenge to face. A significant loss of tourism focused customers resulting from long waiting times in line will bring about uncountable financial loss for the service industry and hinder the improvement of tourism all over the country, thus restricting the development of the nation.Therefore, all scenic spots are in urgent need of a tourist queuing system which can reduce congestion to solve this problem and establish a comfortable environment for tourists which can bring them more satisfied travelling experiences.This paper will focus on devising and planning the queuing system and waiting area of the entrance of scenic spots based on some known factors, aiming at retaining as many tourists as possible with a relatively low service cost and enhancing the tourists’satisfaction by offering them a pleasant queuing experience. |
