Study On Operational Risk Management Of Bank Of China Xingsha Branch

Abstract:Chinese academic circles and banking circles have begun to study the current situation of the operational risk management, the operational risk measurement and the management strategy, and have made initial progress. But the banking financial cases which have been exposed in recent years have showed the deficiency of Chinese research on the operational risk management, especially on the construction of the operation risk management system which needs further study. Bank of China of Xingsha sub-branch has been awared that the operational risk management plays a decisive role in sustained and steady development, and achieved great success in the past two years. However, because there are still a series of deep-seated problems in personnel, technology, system, process, external events, so this has to a certain extent, restricted the further development of operational risk management of our bank.This paper analyzes the current situation of the operational risk of the Bank of China of Xingsha sub-branch as well as the causes of the main business operational risk management by combining quantitative and qualitative methods and by combining theory and practice.Referring to the domestic and foreign bank advanced experience in operational risk management,this paper puts forward the concrete countermeasures to prevent and control the operational risk:first is to increase reform strength; second is to improve the management of operational risk method; third is the construction of the operational risk management system; and forth is to create operational risk management environment; fifth is the training of the operational risk management personnel.
