Study On The Competency Model Of Staff Managers In The Chain Catering Enterprises

Recently, chain catering industry has already formatted an importance strength for the current economic development. The speedy of business development of industry led to the huge growth of talent demand, especially needed a large number of staff managers which have line operation experience and management capacity. It is extremely important to develop the staff managers’competency for the chain catering industry.Since the concept of competence was first proposed in1973. many academic researches and applications have emerged in the Western development countries, many scholars think that competence model is looked as a central issue and foundation in enterprise human research management. In foreign country, an ample of evidences and experiences about competence were harvested. But the researches about competence in China were fewer. Especially few domestic competence research for staff managers is presented, also there is no recognized evaluation model.Firstly, through referring to domestic and foreign literatures on competence connotation, competence model, research status at home and abroad are overviewed, to put forward the significance of the theory and the practice; Secondly, proposing several dimensions of competency model by literature analysis, and collecting competency by the technology of behavioral event interview and open questionnaire survey; Finally, regarding the conflict and challenge between the speedy of business development and manpower storage, further discussing the application of competency model.This paper deepens the competency application in chain catering industry. The results can be used in recruitment, selection and training of human resources to provide practical guidance effect, and then optimize the model by practice.
