| The paper highlights the characteristic agriculture as an important approach toregional economic development.As one of the famous characteristic agriculturalproducts of Jianning county,Jianning lotus seed boasts a time-honoredreputatution.Tracing back to Qing dynasty,this famous lotus seed served as “TributeLotus Seed”("GongLian"). After thousands of years of development, it has becomeone of the leading industries in Jianning County. With the development of Jianninglotus seed industry, it has been attracting more and more attention of economists andagricultural experts and scholars with regard to the breeding, production mode andsales network of the lotus seeds. As in so doing, they’ve involved in theinvestigation and research on its lotus seed industry.However, there has lacked deepstudy on the lotus seed industry,with which no sufficient science and technologysupports and culture forces.Therefore, this paper focuses on the investigation ofscience and technology and culture background concerning Jianning lotus seedindustry, on the basis of the research on its production, processing, market research aswell. Firstly, this paper mainly sheds light on characteristic industry both at home andabroad and the research status of lotus seed industry, and as such, offers the researchmethod and content;Secondly, the paper analyzes the value and significance of lotusseed industry in Jianning County, which offers value reference and theoretical basis ofthis paper at large;Thirdly, this paper presents the research and analysis onJianning-based lotus seed industry, including the survey of science and technology,culture and other aspects;Fourthly, applying SWOT, the paper accounts for thestrengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of Jianing lotus seed industry on thewhole.Finally, on the basis of the foregoing analysis, the paper closes with thesolution and proposal to facilitate the improvement of Jianning-based lotus seedindustry. |
