In recent years, with the emerging economies of China and South Africa havemaintained rapid economic growth, has the important influence of developing countries in theworld. The two countries in such aspects as resources, industrial structure, social need havetheir own characteristics, make the bilateral trade has a strong complementarity, broadprospects for trade between the two countries. The trade and economic relations betweenChina and South Africa and comprehensive study promote bilateral economic, and tradecooperation has great realistic meaning.This paper discusses the background and significance of research China-South Africanbilateral trade. The second part, from the perspective of the development of bilateral tradebetween China and South Africa, And then use the index of the two countries spent trade’sfuture development potential are analyzed, it is concluded that the trade between the countriesmore and more high, spent trade partnership is more and more closely, trade developmentpotential is huge. Meanwhile use the revealed RCA index, trade complementarity index andGL index respectively analyzes the China-south African trade competitive andcomplementary, overall performance is complementary than competitive, In general,China-south African bilateral trade is inter-industry trade and intra-industry trade coexist, butlargely dominated by inter-industry trade. At last, on the basis of above analysis, summarizesthe problems existing in the development of bilateral trade and in the perspective of Chinaputs forward the corresponding countermeasures and Suggestions: Promoting the balance oftrade in our country, Building a harmonious trade relations; Dealing with the diplomatic andpolitical relations with South Africa, Promoting the development of mutual trade; Strengthenexchanges and cooperation, Promoting the development of regional trade integration.
