With the economic globalization, service trade has been acknowledged by the world to be astrong economic booster. During the last2decades, service has been developing very quickly, theinternational service trade of Zhejiang province has improved from0.125billion dollars to23.885billion dollars. With the development of service trade revenue, the structure of service trade hasbeen going through dramatic change and the traditional labor-intensive growth pattern has changedinto human capital-intensive growth pattern. From the standpoint of human capital, this paperanalyzed the influence of human capital level and human capital quality on service trade.The paper first reviewed relevant theories of human capital and service and put forward thenotions of coessential human capital and idiosyncratic human capital. Second, the paper researchedon the affect mechanism of human capital on service trade. It found out that human capital affectsservice trade by promoting the working efficiency, improving the diversity of products, advancingthe technology, attracting needs, giving full play to efficiency function and perfecting incentivesystem. Third, the paper analyzed the current situation of human capital and service tradedevelopment of Zhejiang province. The result showed that though the volume of human capital hassurged greatly, the quality of human capital is not yet satisfying and though the service trade ofZhejiang province has witnessed tremendous growth in volume, problems like unbalancedstructure still exist. Followed up, based on the statistics of human capital and trade service ofZhejiang province from1993to2010, an empirical analysis was made to reveal the impact ofhuman capital on service trade. The result showed that there is an equilibrium correlation betweenthe two. The impact of labor on service trade outweighs that of human capital on service trade andcoessential human capital contributes more to service trade than idiosyncratic human capital does.Finally, grounded on the above analysis, the paper offered suggestions to promote service trade byenhancing human capital level, speeding up the nurturing of more idiosyncratic human capital,rationally deploying human capital and perfect institutional environment and promote thedevelopment of service trade.
