With the advent of economic globalization, Intensifying competition and the transitionof consumption demand patterns, servitization has become a new trend of the developmentof the manufacturing industry in the world, in order to meet individual requirements,creating competitive advantage, and increase profits. While, the implement of servitizationstrategy not only brings profits to the enterprises, challenges in the aspects oforganizational structure, business process, and corporate culture come afterwards.Therefore, many experts deem that organizational structure and business process should betransformed in order to guarantee the smooth implement of servitization strategy of thecorporate.Based on the previous background, the thesis takes Chinese manufacturing enterprisesas the objective of the research and discusses the patterns of servitization and appropriateorganizational structure classification for manufacturing enterprises, on the basis oftheoretical research about organizational structure and servitization strategy made bymany researchers. Then the thesis builds a configuration model based on two variables:organizational structure and servitization, and make a chart to show all possiblecombinations. Next, the thesis designs dimensions and index to measure co-creation ofevery possible combination, which act as a criterion to find the best configuration fororganizational structure and servitization strategy. All in all, the research approach of thisthesis can be summarized as follows. First of all, patterns of how to turn manufacturingenterprises into service-oriented ones will be discussed, along with the exploration of thepath of evolution, hierarchical and periodic characteristics and the internal relationshipbetween them. Then, corresponding proposal of proper organizational structure will beoffered according to the theoretical and empirical study of organizational structure whenenterprises implement servitization strategy. At last, the co-creation value of different configuration patterns of organizational structure and servitization strategies will becalculated according to a special system of measurable indicators. Upon which, theconfiguration mechanism of corporate organizational structure and servitization strategywill be probed into to generate the final proposals of the perfect configuration patterns ofthem.
