Education has economic value, it can improve the information acquisition ability, theallocation of resources ability, production capacity and flow capacity of labor, which affectsthe income of labor ability. Gansu as a predominantly agricultural and economic developingwestern provinces, to achieve the goal of well-off society and agricultural modernization, thefirst thing you need to solve the problem of farmers’ income growth, and a large number ofresearch literature suggests that income increase and labor increase in level of education areclosely linked. This paper via reviewing the relevant theories of education and income,discussed the mechanism of the farmers accepted the education on farmers’ income. A casestudy in Gansu province, using macro statistics of Gansu province in2000-2011to analyzethe status of education and income; the random survey was used to analyze the survey resultsfrom13cities and countries in Gansu province. Furthermore, the effect of educational level offarmers on their family income was investigated by using Mincer model with logarithmicmodel.The results show that the per capita net income of farmer and Labor’s level of educationhave the same tendency. Gansu province both in educational level of farmers and incomelevel lags behind the average level of China. The improvement of education conditions is verydifficult and slow, it is more difficult the average develop higher to higher. Wage income hadgrown to the fastest growth in household income of Gansu province. Education has importanteffect on the transfer of labor force, the higher education level of the labor force is present atrend of increasing proportion in transfer structure, the proportion of primary level andilliterate are falling. The education level of female labor lags behind that of men, theeducation gender inequality still exists in Gansu province; Young adults by the education levelis relatively high, education is to the good direction of development; Transferred out ofmigrant labor because restricted by education level are more engaged in physical labor; Laborby a positive relationship between education level and family income, but the correlationcoefficient is not high, mainly due to regional differences lead to the same degree of educationon income volatility is larger; When labor’s level of education at junior high school degree,family income will increase significantly, and the level of education and the higher thecontribution to the household income growth, the more obvious; When the education durationof16.46years, wage income of farm household appear The maximum;Higher level ofeducation of famers are not more satisfied with economic benefits that can get fromagriculture; Farmers who accepted higher level of education can reduce blindness in theprocess of production and operation.On the basis of the analysis results, based on the basic situation of Gansu province, summarized the present stage are faced with problems of rural education, and then from twoangles of the government and farmers put forward Suggestions for the improvement offarmers’ level of education and farmers’ income.
