Tourism image has the significant influence on people’s expectations of travel,tourism decision-making, tourist perception and behavior; therefore, shaping thedistinctive, unique tourism image of regional tourism is very important for industrydevelopment. Long-term since, both inside and outside the province of Guizhou, thereare some misunderstandings of understanding and awareness of citizens, some eventake with very big one-sided sex or distorted. This case fully shows that building andcommunication of Guizhou tourism image have many deficiencies. To make peoplefully understand Guizhou, accurate interpretation of Guizhou, not simply to promotecertain elements of visibility in Guizhou, but from the whole, connotation, prospective,persistent, to attach importance and strengthen the building and communication ofGuizhou tourism image. In recent years, along with the" colorful Guizhou" a series ofactivities, people ’s understanding and perception about Guizhou have showed somepositive changes, but overall, three without one big and one poor in people’sstereotype on Guizhou has not gotten fundamental change.The academia pays close attention to the problem of tourism image can be tracedback to the1970s, and it has formed a multidisciplinary focus basic situation. Fromthe perspective of Sociology to explain and interpret of tourism image is in the initialstage. Symbolic interaction theory as the classic sociological theory, has broadapplication of space for the tourism image research. Guizhou is rich in tourismresources, and tourism development has good prospective future. As the way to turnthe resource advantage into industry advantage, the key element lies in the buildingand communication of tourism image. This paper uses symbolic interaction theory tointerpret and deconstruct Guizhou tourism image, provide some reference opinionsfor building and communication of Guizhou tourism image.The symbol is a kind of culture, is the fundamental difference between humanand animal. Human’s self interaction and social interaction are the process and resultof symbolic exchange. Tourism image is formed of symbols, and the construction anduse of the symbol contribute to the tourism image. The tourism image of Guizhou is as a result of the history and natural conditions and other factors, long-term sincethere is almost no positive impression left for people, it will restrict the developmentof tourist industry in Guizhou. In view of the cognition of history and realisticproblems in tourism image of Guizhou, scientifically construct the tourism image ofGuizhou symbol system, is the important condition to cause tourism industry inGuizhou to achieve leapfrog development.Through various means of communication for people to understand Guizhou,and change persons’ view to Guizhou stereotypes, that’s the key to reshape the imageof tourism in Guizhou. In recent years, with the help of media advertising,promotional activities, cultural performances and other means, colorful Guizhouimage has won support among the people and been gradually recognized by more andmore people. Therefore, to form with the ecological as the dependent, with culture asthe foundation, with leisure as the guide, to slam the three without and build threewith in colorful Guizhou overall image of Guizhou, is the kernel tourism imagesystem in Guizhou.
