Wuming was the largest and strongest county of Guangxi in cassava industry, and the current situation of Wuming’s cassava industrialization was the representative and epitome of that of Guangxi. Wuming’s cassava industry has developed rapidly in recent years, and has been the second largest industry with local advantages next to the sugar cane industry. In this paper, on the basis of in-depth research and comprehensive analysis, and from the situation which cassava industrialization was facing home and abroad, problems of Wuming’s cassava industrialization development was discussed.1.The current situation of Wuming’s cassava industrialization. Cassava planting of Wuming has a long history, dating back about100years. Since the1950s, the whole planting acreage of Wuming’s cassava is increased, and the production of cassava multiply every10years, to2010to the whole planting acreage of cassava reaches362000mu, average yield2.3t/mu, the yield of fresh cassava more than800000t. Planting acreage and yield of Wuming’s cassava accounting10%,12-15%for Guangxi acreage and yield, and yield of fresh cassava per mu rank first in Guangxi, is the big county of cassava production in Guangxi and even the whole nation. Cassava is planted Mainly in the town of Taiping, the town of Chengxiang,the town of Ningwu,the town of Luoxu, and the town of luwo; the production of Wuming’s cassava almost exclusively use for the processing of cassava starch, modified starch and alcohol, the number ofcassava processing enterprises of Wuming is up to34, production capacity of tapioca starch, modified starch, alcohol is respectively5600t per day,300t per day,600t per day, and all cassava processing enterprises are provided with wastewater treatment facilities of "the anaerobic and aerobic", and basically realize the development goals of low power consumption, low emission, low pollution.2. Problems and constraints of Wuming’s cassava industrialization development. The development of Wuming’s cassava industrialization was facing several problems. First, extensive management on cassava cultivation and low yields lead to a phenomenon of extensive cultivation. Second, processing of cassava starch and alcohol was small-scale and low-level, and the brand awareness was not strong enough.thus constraints that Wuming’s cassava industrialization development faced were put forward.The first is species problems, and cassava varieties is not completely hectareage.the second is research problems, the foundation of research promotion is poor,and the technology of business processing lags behind. The three is the environment pollution problem have become increasingly prominent; The four is that production of the foreign cassava impacts on the Chinese market. The first and the second constraint is the analysis of internal disadvantages to Wuming’s cassava industrial development,and the third and the fourth constraint belongs to analysis of the external threats.3. The developing strategies of Wuming’s cassava industrialization. Aiming at the development status and constraints of Wuming’s cassava industrialization, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions were raised to provide a reference for the updating and development of Wuming’s cassava industry. First, combining with national policies, from aspects of strengthening support for cassava cultivation, consolidating and expanding the existing cassava planting scale and promoting good cassava seeds and planting methods, the regulation to the cassava industrialization should be strengthened by the government, to give full paly to the advantages of Wuming’s cassava industry. Second, Relying on the advantages, a series of technological innovation measures should be put to use, including introducing and innovating high-yielding cassava cultivation techniques, strengthening the closely combination of cassava research and extension, speeding up the introduction of talents and capital, and participating in international exchanges and cooperation actively. The third was to accelerating the development of cassava industry leading enterprises, and enhancing the capacity for sustainable development, including giving support to the leading enterprises of cassava production, building cassava renowned brand, pursuing efforts to environmental protection.
