However, recently, questions including: how to use and protect canal heritage reasonably, how to improve theecological environment of cities along the canal, how to promote canal tourism, have beencommonly-concerned issues among scholars in tourist industry.“Heritage Corridor” is an innovative notion in the development and protection ofheritage in the world. Many other scholars’ views have been referred on issues like thecanal tourism development and the theories of heritage corridor, to explain the concept ofcanal tourism development on heritage corridor. In this work, the keys to the exploitationof the Grand Canal are to pay attention to the connection of each stream segment in thedevelopment and marketing, and to regard each segment as a whole in the managementand protection.
