Array pattern synthesis is one of the most important branches in radar array signalprocessing. It’s widely used in radar system. This dissertation mainly addresses patternsynthesis that control both mainlobe and sidelobe in narrow-band case. Broadbandpattern synthesis are also introduced.In the case of narrow-band singnal incidence, this paper give a few methods thatcan meet the requirement of synthesizing flat mainlobe. They are synthesis methodbased on adaptive array theory and synthesis method based on template match.Combine with the example of anti-interference SAR pattern syntesis, we complete theproject design of SAR pattern synthesis and achieve the target pattern that thesynthesized mainlobe power loss less than3dB and that2notches110dBs lower thanmax value of mainlobe are produced in interference direction. We choose the rightmethod based on adaptive array LMS criterion to finish the pattern design.Furthermore, we analyse performance of adaptive pattern synthesis methodwhich is akind of numerical iteration method. To control mainlobe and sidelobe shapesimultaneously, we update artificial interference in those locations by iteration function.The iteration process convergence speed is related to iteration function. In simulation,we give comparison of convergence line corresponding two diferent iteration functionand analyse the reason, which provide reference for application.Based on narrow-band pattern synthesis, wideband pattern is analyzed andnecessity of frequency invariant beam pattern is stated. Introduce methods to realizefrequency invariant beam pattern including beamformer in frequency domain and FIRbeamformer in time domain. Simulation are given to prove effectiveness.
