Research On The Social Mobilization Of Gansu Republic Daily During The Anti-Japanese War

Gansu Republic Daily published in July1928, is the longest publishing and most influential newspaper of Gansu in the Republic of China. The Lugouqiao Incident broke the development process of Gansu Republic Daily, which gradually evolved into a newspaper whose main functions are publicizing the information of the anti-Japanese war and motivating people’s emotion against Japan. During the anti-Japanese war, Gansu Republic Daily launched a content-rich and long-time social mobilization, which made an important contribution on the stability and development of Gansu province.Based on this condition, this paper will try to explore the social mobilization of Gansu Republic Daily with the methods of text analysis, comparative analysis and case analysis, in order to present the interactions between this newspaper and the society in the period of the anti—Japanese war.The introduction aims at introduce the origin, current status and research significance of this study. At the same time, it explains the research methods and content framework of this paper, as well as the definition of "social mobilization".The first chapter mainly introduces the transformation from "newspaper" to "mobilization paper", in order to present the great impacts on Gansu Republic Daily by the outbreak of the anti—Japanese war.The following three chapters respectively introduce the cases, characteristics, effects and shortcomings of "spiritual mobilization","substance mobilization" and "production mobilization", which are the most significant parts of this paper.The fifth chapter makes a general evaluation on the social mobilization of Gansu Republic Daily during the anti—Japanese war, and explores its historical context.
