Filtering, correlation, convolution, spectrum estimation and so on, in digital signal processing, many algorithms can be converted into discrete Fourier transform for implementing, and the fast Fourier transform is a fast algorithm of DFT, it can not only calculate discrete Fourier transform, but also calculate the inverse transformation of DFT, which has a widely application.Field programmable gate array was launched by Xilinx in1985, which is a new type of high density programmable logic devices and can be programmed by the user to achieve the logic function. It has many characteristics, such as fast speed, configurable, low power consumption, high density, rich resources, short design cycle, low cost, easy to implement pinelining or parallel structure, etc.Although CPU processing speed was continuous improvemented, FFT processing speed has improved, but most design were still with single-core in terms of the design of FFT processor based on FPGA. This design was aimed at the situation of FFT processor with single-core was facing in times of muti-core processor, parallelized FFT processor based on the FPGA technology, it was used Verilog HDL language, located and wired in Quartus II8.0development platform, finally implemented a dual-core FFT processor based on FPGA.This paper has introduced the design process of a complete dual-core FFT processor, and has adjusted the clock system, address generator, angle generator and other core modules based on the principle of parallel multi-core, making this dual-core FFT system can follow the design goals working normally. The system has improved the efficiency of the original FFT processor with strong configurability and good real time, costed less resource, therefore, it has theoretical and practical significance to some extent.
