Based on the electro-optic properties of GaAs, the theory of grating diffraction isapplied to analyze the Waveguide Array Electro-Optical Scanner(WAEOS)’s beamsteering properties. And the traditional electronic control scheme and the2π electroniccontrol scheme of the WAEOS are introduced.According to the electronic control schemes and the structure of WAEOS, thedesign requirements of electric control system have been put forward, and using FPGAas the core unit of the electric control system is determined. The hardware circuit ofFPGA core control module and D/A module are designed and implemented. Thecontrol module consists of serial communication unit, storage unit and D/A controlinterface unit. Finally, the principle of D/A conversion and D/A control method areanalyzed, and the design scheme of D/A module is introduced.The WAEOS beam steering experiment is conducted under the traditionalelectronic control electronic scheme and2π electronic control scheme respectively. Theexperimental results indicate that the performance of the electric control systemdesigned meet the demand of the experiment. At last, the electric control system isused to compensate the voltage of the single waveguide layer and the distinguishability of scanning spot’s main lobe and sidelobe is improved which is caused byuneven thickness and inconsistent material properties of waveguide layer’s...
