According to the 2? electro-control theory, the driving source, which based on the FPGA( Field Programmable Gate Array ), is developed. It can export 10 routeway voltages with range of ?10V and can realize both manual and auto scanning. It is of many advantages as high speed scanning, more precise voltages, updating automatically, configuration without computer, which the single chip system can not compared. Voltage frequency for the driving source based on FPGA is up to 2MHz. The design of hardware control circuit is correctly and steadily by experiment. The sidelobes of electro-optical scanner not only waste energy, but also cause multiple values during measurements to interfere major lobes. However, an effective suppression of side lobes is presented by the software MATLAB,which is a new structure of array. So, a base theory for the application of electro-optical waveguide array is provided among the variety of moulds, and farther research direction is put forward. With the OWA with 10 waveguides developed by group and the driving source, experimental system for WOPA is set up. Experiment on WOPA is studied and beam scanning at one dimension is realized. The max beam deflecting angle is 13.6?, and the max driving voltage needed is 8.7V. The results confirm principle and feasibility of WOPA.
