At present, the media environment is undergoing unprecedented change. In addition to traditional media such as newspapers, radio, TV, there appear many new forms of media, like internet, mobile phones, microblog, entering into our lives and breaking the balance among previous traditional media. We have unconsciously stepped into the era of omnimedia.In omnimedia age, the ecological environment of media has taken place greater change than ever before, and the competition among the media becomes increasingly fierce. Thus, it turns into a matter of public concern in television studies and industry that how television media, as the biggest traditional media, exploit their own advantages in the new media ecological environment, and gain a foothold in the fierce media competition.TV programs are the ultimate forms of all communication activities on TV, while the television news programs are those with greater credibility and influence, which are the foundations of successful television stations. The program format of the news is the bones and framework of TV news program, directly influencing production values and communication effects. Therefore, the innovative levels of TV news program formats, to some extent, determine the competition ability and development prospects of TV media in omnimedia era.In the times of onmimedia, with the development of the technology, the integration of the platform and the changing needs of the audience, there are many topics of television program formats worthy to study, like the changes, results of practice, existing problems and the future innovative strategies.This paper is divided into five parts. The first part discusses the origin of the selected topic, purpose and significance of the topic, and concludes the present research situation of the omnimedia and the formats of TV news programs in our country. The second part of this paper defines the concepts of omnimedia and TV news program formats. The third part analyzes how omnimedia era influence the innovation of news program formats from the perspectives of the development of technology, the integration of the platform, and the changing needs of the audience, which provide references for the innovation of TV news program formats in onimedia age. The fourth part elaborates on the practicing results of the innovation of the TV news program formats as well as the existing problems. The fifth part states the innovative strategies from the macro and micro two aspects, based on the previous studies, and strives to put forward some useful suggestions for the innovation of the formats of TV news program.
