Robot as a new tool has made an important innovation for the style of human production and life. Robotics as a popular subject, leads other technology advances in related fields with its continuous development, such as materials technology, sensor technology, computer technology. Many countries have established long-term planning for robot technology, the development of robot technology shows the development of nation high technology.Nowadays, the conception of the robots replace manual operations has been recognized around the world. Intelligent patrol robot as a class of robot is one of the most popular research direction in robotics. Currently, there has been a variety of intelligent patrol robots used in human production and life. These intelligent patrol robots are not only reduced the human labor intensity, but also produced a considerable economic benefits. The research of intelligent patrol robot needs the support of many other technologies, in which navigation technology, communication technology and sensor applications technology are critical technologies.This paper presents an integration scheme for intelligent patrol robot, and in the paper shows one intelligent patrol robot with the use of this integration scheme. This intelligent patrol robot can be used in residential patrol, industrial site monitoring and other automation applications instead of manual operation. This paper describes the framework of robot’s hardware and software, and mainly describes the research of critical technologies and its implementation. Finally, the intelligent patrol robot which uses this paper’s integration scheme was validated under the laboratory environment, the verification results indicate that this intelligent patrol robot system was in good operation.
