Eye is one of the most intuitive and important way, with which human can knowand learn about the world. With the rapid development of science and technology, thetraditional two-dimensional television becomes increasingly difficult to meet thegrowing material need of the people. The stereo display can provide the depthinformation which the traditional two-dimensional display can’t implement, andaccords with the habit of the human eyes. As the stereo display is much more adaptiveto the demand of the information age, it has received a widespread attention. Theauto-stereoscopic technology can detach the limitation of the glasses and the helmet,and gives higher of freedom and comfort level to the users. As a result, theauto-stereoscopic system is more and more acclaimed.Grating type auto-stereoscopic technology has many advantages: the structure isrelatively simple; it is easy to implement in the laboratory environment; it has a gooddisplay effect. Therefore the grating type auto-stereoscopic technology has become ahot research direction in auto-stereoscopic technology. It mainly uses the spectraltheory of the grating. It can separate the parallax picture which is shot by differentviewpoint cameras and transmit the results into a corresponding eye respectively.Then the users can have a stereo feeling from this system. Focus on the grating typeauto-stereoscopic technology this article discusser the main research topics as follows:1. This paper discusses the stereo imaging principle of the grating typeauto-stereoscopic system firstly. We set up a auto-stereoscopic system based onstepwise slit grating, and use a22inch LCD displayer is the display platform. Thesystem is mainly used for further research.2. This paper adopts the parallel shooting method and the convergence shootingmethod to shoot the multi-view parallax picture in3ds max. The results are displayedin the system. By comparing the display effects, we can achieve a conclusion thatGather shooting method can obtain more ideal stereo display effect.3. This paper develops and designs a multi-view image generation software inmatlab environment. The software can make the post-processing work of theauto-stereoscopic system source easier. By using the software, the system can insertthe zero parallax frame in stereo video. It can realize the compatible display of2D/3D in the system. The most important advantage is that it can relieve the visual fatigue ofthe viewers which is brought by the grating type auto-stereoscopic system.4. This paper introduces the crosstalk degree in the stereoscopic images whichis the key parameter to measure the effect of display in auto-stereoscopic displaysystem. On the theory basis of the crosstalk degree in the stereoscopic images, wepropose the concept of binocular image separation degree and an intuitive, simple,reliable detection method. This paper implemented the confirmatory experimentwhich can prove the test method is feasible.
