In recent years wireless sensor network (WSN) is a hot spot of research. Wireless localization is to point to rely on the known node in the network location, by communicating with neighbor nodes and positioning mechanism to determine the location of the unknown node. ZigBee technology as a kind based on IEEE802.15.4standard specifications is a short distance wireless two-way wireless communication technology, with its advantages of low power consumption, low cost, high efficiency application prospects in wireless sensor network location technology has extensive prospects.This thesis studies the typical wireless sensor network localization algorithm, classified and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the typical algorithms. Deeply research and study the CC2431and CC2430module based on ZigBee positioning technology of the correlation function and parameter measurement, and further study of the CC2431positioning engine positioning algorithm and Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) algorithm such as modified MDS algorithm, subspace MDS methods and the classical MDS method based on subspace of thought. On this basis, the three kinds of MDS algorithm and CC2431engine based on received signal strength indicator (RSSI) algorithm are contrasted under different number of beacon nodes and different SNR respectively through MATLAB simulation experiment, and the three kinds of MDS algorithm were verified simulation that its performance are all superior to the CC2431positioning RSSI algorithm in the engine in the above two cases. And the three kinds of MDS algorithm were realized with C language programming.In this paper, by extracting the RSSI values of CC2431, put it into three kinds of MDS algorithm to calculate the positioning results, and then compare with the results of C2431positioning engine, through contrasting the positioning results of three kinds of MDS algorithm and ZigBee hardware platform under different beacon nodes and coverage respectively. Verified the three kinds of MDS localization algorithm of positioning error are all smaller than the CC2431positioning engine in the above two cases. And analyze in different situations, the advantages of the three kinds of MDS algorithm. cases. It can improve the positioning precision effectively when the node was obscured or fails.
