With the rapid development of mobile information and communication systems, intelligent transportation, wireless local area network, radar systems, electronic warfare, unmanned aerial vehicles and other military and civilian areas, the high requirements for each systems and rigorous working environment constantly applied the RF microwave semiconductor technologies and RF power module to a new research height.Based on the background and basic theory of power amplifier, this paper introduces the development of RF devices and RF technologies and the new technologies. And this paper gives the main technical indicators of the RF power amplifier and the analysis of the signaling networks. The key design methods of the RF power amplifier are proposed such as the amplifier stability conditions and the linearization techniques. In the impedance matching network design, this paper gives the conditions and proposed methods of the impedance matching, and combines with the Smith Chart tool and the Q value curve to design the network. In order to realize the wideband radio frequency power amplifier, this topic uses Smith Chart and the equal Q value curve directly to design the impedance matching network with multi stub. And then combined with the optimization function of ADS software platform to realize the impedance matching quickly and accurately to satisfy the design requirements. After the theory and key technology analysis, this paper gives a general simulation design steps of the wideband radio frequency power amplifier based on the basic theory and practical basis, and completes the two steps wideband radio frequency power amplifier with the ADS. The driver stage uses a integrated power amplifier chip AH102A, and the final stage uses the LDMOS power transistor BLF6G27-10G of NXP company. The amplifier works on a wideband between2300MHz and2700MHz with30dB gain and10watts output power. At last, this paper draws out the whole extent of the radio frequency power amplifier according to the circuit parameters and complete physical production and testing.
