With the high-end and high-speed development of the mechanical properties, encoder grating has a widespread application in various professions, the yield rapidly increases and the technical level constantly improves. Encoder grating and main shafting system assembling is important link in photoelectric encoder manufacture process and also the key technology to ensure the encoder accuracy. While at present, the domestic production enterprises use manual assembly procedures in encoder grating and main shafting system assembling, which is inefficient, cannot ensure the quality and is seriously influenced by artificial factors.To solve the above problem, the paper uses the machine vision technology and the grating base circle images to identify the encoder main body rotation center and calculate the grating’s maximum eccentricity and eccentric position, in this paper, a mechanism body of encoder grating automatic adjusting system and the related control systems is designed.According to technical indexes of encoder grating automatic assembly, this paper designs anintegral mechanical structure and a control system, and the application of computer technology makes the machine, electric an organic integration. In the aspect of mechanical design, the3D movement worktable of the camera, grating deployment mechanism, encoder main fixture structures, micro adjusting mechanism and the other ontology structure designs. The control part is mainly composed of upper computer and lower computer etc. System obtains the grating base circle image by the camera, then through image processing technology such as denoising, enhancement, edge extraction and other operations are used on through the acquired images to reappear grating base circle images,calculate the encoder main body rotation center,and calculate the grating’s maximum eccentricity and eccentric position,finally, the data obtained is sent to the lower machine control system through the upper compute serial port. The lower computers real-time adjustment according to instructions and data received which are sent by upper computer.
