Traditional internal combustion engine vehicle bring great convenience to people’s life,but at also contributed to the global energy crisis and environmental problems, thus pureelectric vehicles will be an important development direction of automobile industry in thefuture. Vehicle control unit is the core component of electric vehicle, it shoulder theimportant control task, the vehicle efficiency, it has a direct impact on efficiency, handing,safety of the vehicle. And it guarantee the coordination and efficient operation of every partsof the pure electric vehicleThe basic software is the basis for the realization of the vehicle control unit all code.Hardware in loop test bench can simulate the real working environment that the vehiclecontrol unit is in on the car. Through the selection of specific test conditions, it can givecomprehensive tests of the vehicle control unit, help the developers to optimize controlstrategy, reduce the development cost and development cycle.This paper is based on a cooperation project with some electric company. Incombination with the practical demand of pure electric vehicle the paper study the controlstrategy, establish related simulation models, write the basic software for the vehicle, andtest the vehicle control unit in hardware in loop bench. The main contents are as follows:1) Established a simplified, but highly practical driver model,,motor model, batterymodel, vehicle control unit model in Matlab/Simulink. In combination withdynamic model of TruckSim software, realized the pure electric vehicle model,verified the vehicle control strategy by the model, optimized the vehicle controlstrategy by analyzing the simulation result of the specific conditions.2) Complied with stratified programming ideas, written CAN, CCP,UDS drivingprogram and realized the basic software of control unit on the high-performancehardware. The realization of the CCP driver is convenient to calibrate the vehiclecontrol unit in real vehicle experiments in the future, which can realize the optimization of vehicle control strategy. The realization of the UDS driver can helpthe maintenance person to read fault information through standard diagnosticinstrument and make it possible to determine the fault of the pure electric vehicle.3) According to test requirements for the vehicle control unit. Developed HIL testbench which is based on LabVIEW RT running environment, written the testcontrol program with LabVIEW software. By the start condition, accelerationcondition, climbing condition, fault condition and so on, tested the control strategy,analyzed the test result, optimized the control stategy.4) In the final analyzed the full work and problems existing in the process of study,put forward to the improvement scheme in the future.
