Research On User Behavior Mechanism Of Social Collaborative Information Seeking And Retrieval

As a research focus in the filed of Library and Information Science,the scope and content of studies on Collaborative Information Seeking and Retrieval is continuing to be expanded resently. Especially with the rapid development of information technology and the gradual deepening of Web2.0, Social Collaborative Information Seeking and Retrieval, the subclass of Collaborative Information Seeking and Retrieval, has been practiced in the network. However, there is still a lot of problems to be resolved and proved about the theory in terms of social collaborative information seeking and retrieval.Based on current situation, this article is to conduct a study to explore the user behavior mechanisms of social collaborative information seeking and retrieval.In this paper, data on user behavior characteristics and influencing factors of social collaborative information seeking and retrieval is collected through questionnaire and then processed by statistical analysis and structural equation. Based on the results of the data analysis, the study reached the following main conclusions.This article summaries six user behavioral characteristics about social collaborative information seeking and retrieval, including trigger motivation, information need, formulated planning, information source, information activities and information exchange. Among them, information exchange goes through social collaboration and it confirms theory about Strength of Weak Ties of Mark Granovetter, that is strong ties play an important role in the process. In futher, it proves the nature of social collaborative information seeking and retrieval is knowledge sharing.Based on infonnation platform, quality of information gradually is improved by iterative analysis and identification.The user behavior influencing factors model of social collaborative information seeking and retrieval is built on six factors, including task cognition, situation cognition,trust members, motivation reinforcement, personal relevance, group consistency. Obviously,both intrinsic factors(task cognition, situation cognition,trust members) and extrinsic facors(motivation reinforcement) are at work in the development of social collaborative information seeking and retrieval. And the consensus is reached under judgement of personal relevanc and group consistency.From trigger to evolution and to continuation, context plays an important role in social collaborative information seeking and retrieval.It is not only the operation background, but also provides a methodological framework for more research about social collaborative information seeking and retrieval.
