As the transformation of residential conception and the growing sophistication of IOT (Internet of Things) technology, the pursuit of intelligent life has become a new goal for modern people. As a matter of fact, with the support of the growing IOT technology, intelligent life has become one of the new research directions. As we all know, technologies like Bluetooth and WLAN are very mature and also popular in many areas, but they cannot meet the demands of low power consumption and strong networking capabilities, so in my opinion they are not a perfect match for smart home. However, Zigbee is relatively new wireless communication technology, which is characterized by short range, low power consumption, strong networking capability, making it in fully compliance with the requirements of smart home.Therefore this subject intends to simulate a home environment covered by Zigbee home networking. It includes seven Zigbee node modules:two Zigbee modules of four-button switch, two Zigbee modules of three relays, one Zigbee coordinator gateway module, one infrared module and one hand-held button module. Each module plays a different role in the whole system. The four-button switch modules and hand-held button module work as the router while the three relays module and infrared module work as endpoints and the coordinator gateway module work as a coordinator.Three main Zigbee communication methods were adopted in this subject, the first one is Zigbee broadcast communication,the second one is Zigbee binding communication, and the third one is point-to-point communication. Broadcast communication is the method used for the transmitting of wiring information; Binding communication is the method used to send control information; Point-to-point communication is the method for feedback information after the wiring information was done. Upon the completion of wiring for every module, the system can realize the control between module to module by binding communication.
