The Application Of Data Mining In College Students Achievement System

Now many colleges and universities have adopted the achievement managementsystems, but in most cases, these systems can only deal simply with the datas presented.They can not hunt for the information contained in the datas and give out comprehensiveanalysis correspondingly, so in fact the system does not play its due role for thedecision-makers to give the decision support. In this thesis, to make a beneficial attempt,the data mining technology is introduced to the student achievement management system.The thesis mainly reflects in the following four aspects. Firstly, we have made adetailed analysis of training scheme, curriculum and score, designed the the studentachievement management system, and finished the design of the basic functions, such asinputting, querying, modifying and so on. Secondly, according to the standard ofmeasurement based on U-test, the positive association rules can be divided into two types:strong ones and weak ones. Thus, it can provide the users more effective association rules.Thirdly, according to the student performance information and training scheme, combinedwith the correlation of course theory, we have finished studying the effect on its relatedcourses (i.e. the subsequent course). Finally, a new score pre-alarm system has beenestablished, and we have been studying its theory and trying to construct the model.In this system, Visual C#is used to carry out the design, and SQL Server2000ischoosed as the database. The data mining technology is adopted to hunt for the usefullinformation, and its mining results are used to provide guidance for the teaching work.This has certain reference value for determining the training scheme and settingcurriculum, and this also gives important guidance to students’learning. So it can improvethe common development of colleges and students.
