With the network technology and multimedia technology more mature, more communication tools and means of communication walk into people’s life and vision. The dedicated communication equipment of people’s need is more and more. The equipment can display more about the user’s expressive meaning, increase the expression, and make the resource sharing to promote better.Network multimedia technology integrates network communication technology and multimedia technology, using efficient feature of network transmission and diversity characteristics of multimedia, bringing a huge change to the people’s life and work, making the human communication unprecedented quick, clear and intuitive. The technology gets more and more widely used in the field of communication, banking, transportation, distance learning, video conferencing, etc.This paper, on the basis of network multimedia technology, designs a communication system which can transmit real-time rendering of graphic information, and at the same time transmit voice information. The communication process is as follows:firstly, to establish communication state on both sides of communication, the sender inputs text and drawing in the touch screen, ARM11processor S3C6410collects graphic data and displays it on the touch screen, and then compresses the graphic data, packages into RTP packets, and the voice module of speech data synchronization processing after processing, finally, sends the RTP packets to the network. The receiver receives the data packets from the Ethernet, firstly, the receiver judges the received packet voice packets or graphic package, according to the content by graphic processing module to display on the LCD screen after unpacking the packet, or voice package for voice communication.Based on the original design for network multimedia communication system, hardware modules and software modules is discussed. In the hardware part of the circuit, including the choice of embedded processor, LCD circuit and audio circuit design, network interface circuit design. In software module part, focusing on analysis of embedded systems, embedded operation system migration, RTP transport protocol, a detailed analysis of voice processing modules speech coding algorithm, and the process of lossless compression of graphics compression principle and source code implementation. Through the tests of hardware and software function modules, the result verifies the systemic communication function and design concept.
