In order to meet human needs as much as possible, optical fiber systems are developed to the direction of greater capacity, higher speed and longer distance. If we used the polarization multiplexing, not only the communication capacity can be greatly improved but also can improve the spectrum efficiency at the same time.In this paper the polarization multiplexing system is designed on the base of polarization multiplexed theories, and the system used the DQPSK modulation because it’s relatively superior transmission performance. Finally simulate the system, firstly simulate the transmission link performance of the polarization multiplexing system, while chromatic dispersion, polarization mode dispersion exist in the transmission link, on this basis, compensate chromatic dispersion and analysis the compensation ability of all-optical compensation and electro-optical compensation, secondly, simulate the whole communication system, simulate and analyze the system performance of the back to back transmission and through different distance optical fiber transmission. |
