The output intensity profile of a laser beam is decided by the resonator structure, such like the curvatures of mirror, the length of resonator, and the optical property of gain medium. Different kinds of the intensity profile will fit the different kinds of applications. For example, in the applications of laser drilling or laser cutting, a sharper laser beam profile is needed. But in the applications of laser surface treatments, a uniform intensity profile will be better than the precious one.The main content of the thesis is established on Nd3+:YAG laser system, focuses on the laser output characteristics of the resonant cavity which is composed by diffractive optical elements. With this method, the flat-top laser beam can be obtained with the same energy laser beam outputted by the general mirror.
