The main features of heart disease are high burst rate and high mortality,and now heart disease has caused a serious threat on human health, evenendanger the life, so the research of real-time ECG monitoring system isimminent. With the development of wireless sensor network, the traditionalECG monitoring system based on cable connections has been replaced bywireless monitoring system, health care workers often need to give timelytreatment when the disease is onset, so establishing a wireless location systemwithin the network is very important. This paper developed a ECG monitoringand positioning system based on wireless sensor network, which Zigbee wirelessnetworking module is used to collect real-time ECG data and transmit the datato the monitoring center for displaying, storing and analyzing, at the same timethe system combined with the positioning functions of CC2431for patienttracking. When in case of emergency, medical staff can rush to the scene for thequickest treatment.The whole system is divided into three parts: ECG acquisition, wirelesstransmission and patient location tracking. By using CC2431’s own internalADC which supports up to14-bit AD converter to collect ECG signal. After theimplementation of the ADC conversion, the results are moved to the memory byDMA, by this way the transfer burden of CPU can be reduced. CC2431andCC2430wireless module are used to build a communication transmissionnetwork, the tasks will be added in Z-stack for achieving the function ofwireless data transfer. On the side of transmitting, the collected data compressedinto packages by using coding method of2-4-8for reducing the amount ofcommunication data, on PC monitoring center the data is recovered by decoding.In the part of location tracking for the patient, location engine of CC2431isused to achieve the function of positioning, at the mean while Lagrange interpolation method is used to predict the movement direction of the mobilenode. If there are multiple reference nodes reach the same distance from themobile node, the system will do some rational choice for the reference nodes,and the positioning accuracy can be improved. PC operator interface monitoringcenter is completed with C++programming language in the Visual Studio2010development environment. The patient’s location tracking and real-time displayof ECG waveform can be achieved, and at the same time the ECG data is storedand analyzed, so the targets of on-line monitoring of the patient and locationtracking can be achieved.
