Millimeter wave system has been widely used, and mainly used in millimeter wave communications, millimeter wave radar, millimeter wave radiometer and milli-meter medical treatment. In the millimeter wave system, the local oscillator is an i-mportant part of the system. High-quality local oscillator is to ensure the performa-nce of millimeter wave system excellent, where the multiplier is the most effective way to get the millimeter wave local oscillator. The paper presents the design of a V-band frequency quadrupler. This V-band quadrupler consists of the Ka-band MMIC frequency doubler, the Ka-band bandpass filter, the V-band varactor frequency doubler, and the microstrip-to-waveguide transi-tion. The key component is the varactor in the quadrupler. In the design of the qu-adrupler, the circuit is realized by the microstrip line. The input signal pass through the Ka-band MMIC frequency doubler and the input matching circuit to simulate t-he varactor. The secondary harmonic signal produced by the varactor gets across t-he output matching circuit and comes out through the standard rectangular wavegui-de WR-15.Aglient ADS and Ansoft HFSS are used to design, optimize and simulate the circuits. Finally, the power of input signal is7.5dBm, the power of output signal is greater than lOdBm over the59-63GHz frequency range.
