With the rapid development and improvement of exterior ballistic measurement technology, reverse technique becomes an emerging discipline. In this paper, the trajectory fitting technique and its application in projectile points was selected as the background. The paper solves the problem how to use fitting technique to determine the projectile impact point in the case of some unknown parameters of the ballistic trajectory.In order to address the centroid of projectile impact of change on the impact point, this article firstly describes the basic principles of millimeter wave detection system and some knowledge of the theory of ballistic system and lists the performance indicators that the radar systems required. The paper studies on system structure of exterior ballistics model. What’s more, we get a theory of ballistic projectile trajectory,by MATLAB simulations.Secondly, this paper describes the sources of errors in the exterior ballistic measurement, and sorts them systematically. For different kinds of error, it establishes appropriate error processing model and bring out correcting methods. Thirdly,the paper describes the principle and process of transformations between coordinate systems used in millimeter-wave detection systems, and lays the foundation for unity of measurement data in different coordinate systems. The paper points out the specific conversion process between geocentric coordinate system and ground coordinate system, make it a groundwork for the study of projectile impact point.Finally, the paper uses Least Squares (LS),and brings out a new way to do fitting coni c. The new method is out of the constraints limit, and this article gives the specific implement ation of the algorithm of the program.The paper analyzes the comparison of simulation and th eoretical analysis of data after filtering based on Extended Kalman Filter and Unscented Kal man Filter. It establishes the model of the trajectory of a particle based on the two filtering m ethods, and comes up with a higher precision, operation faster trajectory Unscented Kalman Filter.The paper gives specific simulation analysis of the point specific forecast of the three ty pes of ballistic trajectory reconstruction. Furthermore, it compares the results with the theoret ical trajectory and verify the advantages and disadvantages of various reconstruction algorith m, thus providing the basis for improving the efficiency of the estimated impact point.The pa per chooses UKF algorithm which has higher precision for the simulation, whose result show s that the spreading area of projectiles is narrowed by4.21, in other words, efficiency of esti mating the point of fall is improved.
