Study Of Serial Number Image Of Banknote Compression Encode On Banknote Sorter

With the progress of technology and sustained rapid development of economy, the demand for the financial service industry is increasing more and more. Banknote sorter, as a kind of burgeoning, convenient and effective financial equipment, is gradually replace hand labor and become the preference of each bank. But the performance of domestic brand needs to be further improved. The serial number images on banknote collected from the banknote sorter has large amount of data while making the transport and storage process time consuming and taking up a lot of storage space and channel resources. To compress these serial number images on the banknote would improve the sorter’s work efficiency to some extent. In this paper, I discuss the algorithm of the word serial image on RMB paper currency.This article posts a brief introduction of the principle of image compression and the classification of compression method firstly. Due to the image contains large amounts of information redundancy, as like spatial redundancy and visual redundancy which makes image compression possible. Image compression divided into loss compression and lossless compression. During the loss compression, some data are lost so that it can not recover all the data. However, the compression radio of the loss compression is bigger than that lossless one. Then the article focus on the suitable methods JPEG compression algorithm and wavelet transform compression algorithm. JPEG is a kind of international standard on image compression encode. JPEG compression technology is relatively matured developed which has the characteristics of the big compression radio and the high speed on processing. And it need pass image block, DCT transform, quantization,"Z" type scanning and entropy encode to achieve a whole compression encode. Wavelet transform compression encode is developed recently which has the characteristics of good quality of recover image and high compression efficiency. And it need select suitable wavelet base, the extension of the boundary and the organization of wavelet coefficients.The article carried out a simulation of serial number image on paper currency by using JPEG compression and wavelet transform compression. Through the comparison of many aspects then come to a conclusion that the more suitable method of word number image compression is wavelet transform compression. It verifies that to compress the serial number image on banknote do really can improve banknote sorter’s work efficiency. Finally, it summarized the full text.
